Dead ReadyNAS; bad ReadyNAS, BAD!

So, My ReadyNAS sort of died. My first instinct was to get some assistance Infrant Forums. I posted what happened and the people running the post definitely did an excellent job responding. Everyone was very helpful, but it still didn't resolve my problem. I ended up calling their support line. This is where it got interesting.

Found this while Digging this morning; A new vulnerability found in GMail makes it possible for a malicious web site to cause a GMail user's e-mail to be redirected to another address. Check it out:

Beat Mario 64 with only 1 star!!! ?

Okay, now this is pretty neat to an old school gamer. I used to love this game. Due to some glitches in the game, it allowed a player to beat the game with only 1 star. Now watching this thing through was pretty incredible. Previously, 16 stars was the record (http://speeddemosarchive.com/Mario64.html)

There are some rumors that this is a tool assisted run, which is a little disappointing. What do you do? here take a look.

Xbox 360 - Send it out for Repairs?

So I did a little digging and came up with 360 Pros. Some key points for me were the 90 Day Warranty, and the 1-2 day turnaround time. This way I have it in writing how long my 360 will be gone and I have 90 days of Warranty to help protect me. This also indicates that their not using the quick fixes you can find online such as the thermal fix or the towel fix, which only temporarily resolve the issue.

Xbox 360 - Fix it Yourself ! ?

Well, I've been waiting for my Xbox AC adapter and AV Cables to show up (USPS lost the first set I ordered) and they've finally arrived. I plugged in the Xbox 360 and poof it worked. I was a bit shocked to see it.

I decided to send this Xbox 360 to my brother (an avid gamer) and have him test it out for me. I'm thinking there may be an intermittent problem with this 360. For example, the Ring of Death only happens on occasion instead of every time. Because I think repairing a working 360 is a bit off, I'm going to wait this one out and see if any problems come up. I'm also scoping eBay for any other "deals" in hopes to find another 360 to work on.

Xbox 360

Here's the skinny; I picked up 2 Barebones Xbox 360's on eBay both broken. I've got no initial indication of the problems with these 360's, but my guess is the famous Ring of Death. My plan is to try and repair one my self and have the other sent off for repairs. So this is what I've got so Far:

Hosts file and Messing with Co-Workers!

Someone sent me a really annoying link;
www.raygoldmodels.com

In order to get my revenge, I decided to edit his Hosts file. From the Hosts file Wiki Page; the hosts file is a computer file used to store information on where to find a node on a computer network.

Now, I know this person is on Flickr on an almost Hourly basis. So I've edited the Hosts file to point from Flickr to www.raygoldmodels.com.

Divx to DVD

I found an pretty good post for converting Divx to DVD. I think it's been over-complicated a bit, but overall if you're interested in burning Divx movies to DVDs, it's a good read.

Auction Sniper

Have you ever wondered how other people have been able to win bids right under your nose? Or how they seem to be bidding faster than you can think? The fact is most eBay auctions are won in the last minute of the Auction, commonly referred to as Sniping.
